Last night I made great crepes. I used a standard batter recipe from the net but I improvised the filling.

I made a simple cream sauce (make a roux with 2T butter and 2T flour, over low heat slowly add 1.5C light cream and stir until it starts to thicken) and added 1.5C shredded sharp cheddar and .5C shredded romano.

Once it was all melted together I stirred in two grated zucchinis (one green and one yellow) and used that as the crepe filling. I decided it would be a good way to sneak vegetables to a kid who only eats cheese because you can barely notice the green and yellow flecks.

My MIL came over to eat with us and brought over a Skor ice cream cake which is BAD NEWS. There is still so much of it left in the freezer.

My pilates class was pretty good too. I think I might actually stick this one out. As far as I can tell, this teacher is about 90% as thorough as my last so as long as she keeps it up I'll be going. It doesn't hurt that it's super close to my house either.

On another note; I've gotten stuck on this one thing in my drumming. It's the double stroke. To explain, imagine you are hitting a drum going RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT. Well a double stroke is when you go RIGHT RIGHT LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT LEFT LEFT but the second stroke is just letting the stick bounce back down. Except you do it really fast. It is my white whale.

Also, this morning I came across this blog post talking about how our canine teeth do not prove that we are meant to be omnivores. It's pretty interesting.

On this day:

In 2006 - I come across an asshat of a doctor and post an awesome link.
In 2005 - I tell you the name of the worst talk show
