29th-Nov-2009 12:17 pm - that which sustains me
Once again Brent has taken Bobby out on a man-venture to allow me to work on my paintings. I'm doing that right not but I'm at the point were I need certain parts to dry (or mostly dry) before I can do the next part. I decided to kill paint drying time by singing along to music and checking my twitter feed.

Let me just say this:

My taste in music is ACES! Everything I like, I like because it emotes. It makes me feel something. There are a lot of good songs in the world, but if it doesn't make me FEEL something deep within mah bellay then I'm not interested in hearing more than maybe 2 times.

Artists currently driving me are:

-Sondre Lerche (favorite song right now is "My Hands are Shaking" SERIOUSLY AWESOME)
-Immaculate Machine

And more but those are the last three that came up on random.

So anyway, there I was singing along to great songs and checking my twits and then Torrie posted this link and I just soared. I feel like if I read that EVERY MORNING nothing bad can happen in my life and I will always feel full of spirit and artistic motivation. I don't even know how else to describe that link. Please PLEASE read it and let me know what you think. Do you even find it interesting?

I find sometimes things that change me mean less than dirt to others. I can see it. I know I feel nothing for things that drive others. Good thing there's lots of stuff out there for all the different kind of people.

27th-Oct-2009 08:19 am - Piano Songs
You know what I really like? Modern music that heavily showcases the piano.

You know what I don't have a lot of? Modern music that heavily showcases the piano.

My latest favorite is Coeur de Pirate but I need more More MORE!  Any suggestions?

On this day:

In 2006 - Wedding recaps
In 2005 - A blonde joke

8th-Jan-2009 11:59 pm - It's a group effort
So I'm working on making 2 playlists for Bobby.  One for sleepy time and one for fun sing along time.  I have a total of 9 songs.

What songs would you suggest for each category?

On this day:

In 2008 - a poem about anger
In 2007 - yoga ended up sucking
In 2006 - cheesy songs
In 2005 - oh I LOVE beavertails!
7th-Sep-2008 12:52 am - ai ai ai!
So I just got back from the show. I must say, Trevor James and the Perfect Gentlemen are great live. I bought their CD and it's good, but they are definitely a must-see live band. The CD doesn't do them justice.

Anne, my hair magician, is dating the drummer, who is pretty fine looking if I do say so myself (which I can because I have had a few) was there. She's so cute. She bought my a whiskey sour which was a surprise. I couldn't find her before we left though so that sucks.

I brought my pump to relieve some pressure while out but the bathroom was SUPER gross so I decided to hold out and now I've been home for nearly an hour and the baby is dead asleep and won't eat and I don't feel like pumping because he normally would be eating soon so...

My tits could totally rival Pam Anderson's right now. The are huge and hard like rocks. If it weren't for the leakage, I could totally go bra-less with a tube top for the first time since hitting puberty.

On this day;

In 2007 - as if no one commented on this...
In 2006 - corn chowdah

9th-Jun-2008 07:25 am - crap sack
This weekend was really REALLY hot. We finally had to turn on the AC. I was also unmentionably sick all weekend and I think I'm finally getting over it (I hope).

It's actually still really hot but it's supposed to rain today so at least that would cut the humidity. The pool at my in-laws' place is open and ready for use but I haven't had the chance to use it yet.  Good god I dream of the pool!

List of complaints:

  • getting up to pee every 2-3 hours in the night
  • random heartburn when trying to get back to sleep (I never have it at any other time)
  • ants in our house
  • joints are so loose that walking is actually difficult
  • sinus infection
  • diarrhea
  • waking up in a pool of sweat even though the ac is on and I have not even the sheet on
  • prepared fruits don't just magically appear right in front of me
  • still haven't found popsicle molds
  • baby has decided to practice mosh pit dancing/flailing/punching
ummm ok I think that's it...

Thursday I went to Brent's gig at Dekuf.  I was not a fan of the first and third bands but the second (Brent's) did pretty good and the headliner was pretty great for that style, which is not a style I normally enjoy, so that's saying a lot.  plus there was one dude who was super hilarious because it was his birthday.

Friday I called in sick to work because I was exhausted, and actually sick (see complaints above).  I had planned on puttering about the house, cleaning it up and meeting with the doula but I just napped and snuggled puppies all day. I was feeling HORRID so I canceled with the doula.

Saturday we ran errands during the day and did our groceries in the same store but a different location. I think it threw us off our grocery buying game. Later that evening, we went out to Oz Kafe to celebrate the birthday of Christos the Wonder Greek.  I have a few sweet photos but I haven't uploaded them yet.  Our table probably pissed off the surrounding diners as someone (my husband) started a conversation about getting caught by the girlfriend's parents and then the stories came flying out way too loud and way too fast.  It was fairly hilarious.

Sunday we visited with Brent's parents and one of their old friends and his daughter who just moved into town to do her residency,.  They both seemed really nice.  Then we  went to Almonte to celebrate Ethan's 2nd birthday. It was so hot out so we parked ourselves under a shady tree and enjoyed the river's breeze.

I crashed when we got home and Brent went to hockey, poor guy. At least there's ice there to cool off on.

Coming up this week:

  • Midwife appointment on Tuesday
  • Doula appointment on Thursday
  • Interview for the job I already have been doing for 3+ years on Friday
  • Pregosaur photoshoot on Saturday JEFF WHAT TIME ARE WE DOING THAT???
  • Finally starting the flooring in the baby's room sometime this weekend....
On this day:

In 2006 - I was being pretty random
In 2005 - This is why my face is crazy.
I thought I'd add my google calendar to my igoggle page but it doesn't show any of the events I've put in. I'm officially net dumb because I thought all things google were designed in such a way as to allow slugs to use them with success.

Enough about that!

Another band I like lately is The Grates. You should check out their website, and their myspace. When I listen to their stuff, I can't help but to think of myhyenaflewaway  because she used to post songs she made and they had the same rawness.

On this day:

In 2007
- where I lead you to believe I have a fellatio-related injury when, in fact, I do not.
In 2006 - the bed where all the magic happens
In 2005 - well this means the next few ones for this year will be juicy...
2nd-May-2008 07:13 am - This is fate.
Yesterday on the bus ride home I was thinking about how I needed to find new stuff to listen to. I found myself skipping too many songs.

Then this morning I check my email and Jeff sent me two songs!  See how life works out?

So this is a call-out.  What is your favorite song right now?  You should email it to me so I can check it out!  sassy_red_head@livejournal.com

On this day:

In 2007 - I never did finish that apron....
In 2006 - On pushing...
In 2005 - On being in love...
30th-Apr-2008 07:22 am - Everybody's gonna love today!
If you like your music to be made of sugar-coated candy floss, you should check out Mika.

It's like LSD meets carnival meets Freddy Mercury meets fluffy kittens.

On this day:

In 2007 - I had such simple goals. I accomplished most of them already. I still need to refinish the chair.
I need a date. They are playing April 8 at Capital. Let me know bucause I'm not going to bother getting a ticket if no one will go with me.

On this day:

In 2007 - mystery key
In 2006 - the horrible chili my mommade
In 2005 - how to make duck confit - a photo diary
So a while ago I bought Costello Music by The Fratellis.

Let me just say I fucking love it as much as I loved the New Pornographers 2 years ago. So that's a LOT.

When I say I like peppy music, this is exactly what I mean. Not only is it peppy but it's interesting and it also gets me moving. If I remembered to play this at home more often (rather than on my iPod on the bus when dancing around would be inappropriate) I would probably have a spotless house because siting still and taking my time would not be an option.

On this day:

In 2007 - Things I dislike about pro-sports
In 2006 - Two photo posts, both of them are good
In 2005 - gooooOOOO spOrts
