Sassy Red Head
don't rest easy
I want to take a nap in some flowers.

I feel so yucky.  My face feels swollen, I'm having random back pains, I'm incredibly sleepy and my lunch was disgusting.  I'm also thirsty but I don't want to go buy water, although I should because despite feeling puffy, I think I'm dehydrated.

We're supposed to go out with Brent's friend's tonight.  I have no idea what the plans are other than "pre-drinking and BBQ" at his place.  I am SO not in the mood for drinking but I know that we have no food at home so if I opt out, I will likely starve to death.

I keep meaning to make a post about the Diva Cup...I'm pretty unmotivated.  I'll just make it point form and you let me know if you need me to expand on something.

It doesn't leave my vag. feeling all raw and dried out by the end of my period like tampons do.
One-time cost
No waste (other than original packaging)
Comes with carrying bag and fashion pin
Don't need to empty it as often as I need to change tampons
Super-Low risk of TSS

Takes a few turns to figure out how to get it at the right angle to prevent leakage
Rides up if I leave it without out tugging it down a little for too long (ie 5 hours) causing leakage and difficulty removing
Takes longer to remover, empty, clean and insert than changing tampons (although I imagine with practise the whole process will go faster)

All in all, I think it's definitely worth it and the benefits will make me happier over time.  I would reccommend it to anyone who menstruates.

That's a super cute picture!

As for the diva cup, I'll look into it, it sounds pretty interesting and a nice alternative to tampons which just suck.

Tyrone is a Supermodel.

Glad to hear the Diva-thingy situation is working out well for you!

your dog is adorable and that pic of him is way too cute.

thanks for the review on the divacup. i've been wanting to try it but for some reason haven't.

heheh, it is so good that tyrone has a back yard to play in now. he is so cute.

i think that dry feeling is one of the best reasons to try it. tampons are like sticking cotton batton in your kooch

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's worth it and that next month will be even better because I'll have a bit of practise by then.

I have another friend who swears by her "cup".

I am okay with putting tampons in, but I have stopped for the past year because it's been leaving me feeling super dry as well.

I just want to know how far up the cup goes as I am not comfortable with reaching far up inside to pilfer it out and emerge from a stall with bloody hands.

I would really love to be able to swim while menstruating as I boycott tampons from this year forward.

You are not supposed to put it far. You keep it just far enough in that it doesn't stick out. It has a little stem to pull it out from.

I was picturing it to be something like OB, where you have to reach far in and pull it out.

ob has a string....you don't need to reach in unless you shove the string in there too.

I had one and there was no string...

They had this thing " no string, no applicator, no problem " for a while..

hmmm...so what happens when you're in a public washroom and need to "empty" and clean it? I assume some kind of rinsing is required?

You can just wipe it down with some toilet paper.
